Goa Heritage Festival

The second installment of the Goa Heritage Festival is all set to kick off from January 7 till January 11 at the Saligao Football Ground opposite Mae De Deus Church. To be inaugurated by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Goa Heritage Festival will celebrate Goa’s rich heritage and culture by showcasing various dance, music and art forms found all across the Goan coast, and more!

The Goa Heritage Festival will play host to famous local talent comprising of Lorna, Sonia Shirsat, classical singer Praveen Gaonkar and the famous trio ‘Mil Mel Nel’ besides a traditional Goan brass band. Apart from this, festival goers will be able to witness traditional Goan folk dances like Morulo, Khel Tiatr, Veerabhadra and various other.

If that wasn’t enough, the festival will also host a fashion show showcasing the traditional Goan attire by Goan fashion designer Verma D’Mello. The craftsmanship and artistry of Goan artists comprising of woodcraft, pottery, handicraft and coconut craft will be displayed and sold at the Goa Heritage Festival.

While the festival will keep your eyes glued, the food stalls serving delectable Goan cuisine will keep your hands and mouth busy. Expect the best in the local cuisine served to you on a silver platter at the Goa Heritage Festival. Anyone keen on delving into the Heritage of this rich place can attend a seminar at the Saligao Panchayat Hall on January 11.
