Goa in the month of May

This month has got us thinking a lot more than just monsoons and mangoes.

So we’ve decided to pull together a diverse mix of articles, interviews, highlights and more to best prepare you, your closet and your social calendar in anticipation for the change in season.  While also providing you with the inside scoop as we get to the bottom of what makes Goa the ideal destination.  And we’re not just talking about its beaches but as an evolving creative community and the perfect launching pad for young entrepreneurs and up and coming talents.  And what better time to start than Summer!

Catch the tail end of the 19th Annual European Film Festival, screening a collection of 19 award-winning films inspired by the ‘Voice of Youth’.  On at the Entertainment Society of Goa until May 4th, with screenings held in the Maquinez Palace Auditorium.

Then check out what all the buzz is about at ‘The Summer Project’, for refreshing seasonal set menus, the latest resort wear collections and an interchanging display of works by local artists on until May 20th in Panjim, hosted by Sacha’s Shop and The Black Sheep Bistro.  For this feature we sat down with the pair of dynamic young business owners to discuss not only their own experiences and take on food and fashion but to talk about just how Goa matches up to the other metros as a hub for art and design.

Next hear what UK band Will and the People had to say about their time in Goa after performing at Fiesta’s in Baga earlier this week as a part of their first tour in India.

And for anyone passing through the south, be sure to keep an ear out for the boys at Art Escape and The Live Music Project as they continue to promote original music every Saturday night with various artists coming in from all over India performing at The Live Lounge, Baywatch Resort, Sernabatim Beach Road in Colva.

Plus we’ll be keeping you up to date and in the loop on everything that’s going on day to day throughout the month via all of our Goa social media networks including twitter, facebook and instagram.
