Goa International Jazz Live Festival
The pink chill of the forthcoming winter in the air, an open-air ambience, and the groovy, smoky tunes of some good ole’ jazz floating around you… If this sounds like your idea of a fine evening, you might want to head to the Goa International Jazz Live Festival.
Spread across three days with performances by nine bands hailing from six countries, the festival takes place from the 28th to the 30th of November this year.
Jazz aficionados can enjoy acts by a mixed bag of artistes at the festival. Day one will be flagged off by Tarun Balani’s Collective, followed by a performance by Jaco Pastorius Tribute Band and a fusion act by the Shuffle Demons from Canada.
The second day will see Acid Jazz from Goa, a collaborative project. Acid jazz, also called club jazz, is a musical genre combining different elements of soul, jazz, funk, disco and hip hop. Later, Louiz Banks Matrixx Trio a.k.a the Godfather of Indian Jazz, and Veronica Nunes who will be performing numbers from her debut album ‘Pra Fugir da Saudade’, will enthrall listeners.
The last day of the Goa International Jazz Live festival will feature the Pawan Benjamin Quintet that brings together a group of musicians to showcase an eclectic mix of genres such as jazz, contemporary, and soul, while Malcolm Braff will present the closing act.
Baywatch Beach Resort, Sernabatim, South Goa.
