Located on the far end of the Baga river bank, past the main bridge, Go With The Flow is housed in the premises of a restored Portuguese mansion. The restaurant is an extension of the mansion’s gardens, and if you opt to eat on the sky-dining platform you won’t be disappointed with the spectacular views over Baga beach. It’s well equipped kitchen and experienced staff ensure they don’t compromise on quality and well stacked bar to provide you the best of drinks.
Go with the Flow has a strong Brazilian influence on its menu, with a smaller selection of Fusion and Mediterranean plates. This is no accident as the Kitchen is run by esteemed Brazilian Chef Guto Souza and his son Gabriel Souza. Gauto has been working as a Chef for the last 22 years and has run his own very successful restaurants in Brazil, Portugal, Belgium, Holland and India. With all his passion for food it is no wonder that his son Gabriel followed in his footsteps. Gabriel brings an asian fusion to the menu, it has even been rumoured that he has been named Brazil’s best sushi chef!
With a quick run through the menu we placed our order and our mouths watered even before the food got to our table. We started with the Sushi salmon rolls and were starting to wish that we had ordered more. However we knew we had to save some room for the mains so held back. For our main course we ordered Beef Steak from the grill with Thyme butter, potato Hamburguesa (potato stuffed with spinach and blue cheese) wrapped in Parmaham and a fresh salad. The largest Tiger prawns we have ever seen in Goa and slow cooked stew of lamb with fresh herbs and vegetables served with saffron risotto. And the Spinach rolls filled with blue cheese and fresh mushrooms, served with vegetables. We also got to sample the Roasted Pork Belly (from Belgium) glazed with a sweet & sour sauce, apple puree and homemade corn & bacon croquettes, roasted cherry tomatoes. Arguably the best crackling we have tasted out of the UK.
Last but not least Go with the Flow is a restaurant with a huge heart. ALL profits of Restaurant Go with the Flow will be donated to the Samarpan Foundation, which provide help and assistance of any kind when there is a humanitarian, ecological or environmental need. A few of the volunteers from the foundation run the restaurant, so do ask them more about it or visit : www.samarpanfoundation.org to see what projects they are currently working on.
